This insurance company was founded in 1872 in Zurich, Switzerland as the reinsurer of the marine field under the name "Versicherungs-Verein, where it has its main headquarters and offers worldwide services to more than 170 countries. It has over 130 years in Spain insuring people.
Twelve years later in 1884 opens its first office in Barcelona, ​​for the twentieth century the insurance company in Spain promotes occupational accident insurance, then liability insurance in the range of auto insurance.
This company currently results from acquiring 22 entities. The first were the companies Hispania and Vita in 1902, in 1915 Zurich Seguros became the largest shareholder.
